We believe that community is needed to support the transition from your private recovery programme to full independence. This is why our support group exists, an exclusive community solely for recovery warriors here at Natural Food Therapy.
You see, your one-to-one recovery programme arms you with tools and strategies so you can recover from your eating disorder. However, no matter how far you come or how much you have learned through this time, recovery is an ongoing process.
Instead of coming to an abrupt end in your programme, we believe that there must be a step in between. This way, you can continue to move forward by reducing the amount of hands-on treatment you receive, while still allowing you to feel supported.
What‘s included in our support group?
You will receive:
- Fortnightly group sessions with your coach
- Private Facebook group
- Events and workshops
- Opportunities to connect and share
Time and time again, we’ve seen connections made in The Community grow into powerful friendships. This is what makes The Community a unique benefit of recovering with Natural Food Therapy.
You don’t have to do this alone
Eating disorders often lead to disconnection from others, which can create intense feelings of loneliness as a result. It is not uncommon to feel as though you are the only person going through this difficult battle with food and body image.
When you have a trusted network of peers and professionals who understand what you’re going through, you can find strength knowing you are, in fact, not alone.
Easing the transition to full independence
Support doesn’t have to end when your one-to-one programme ends. We believe there must be a step that considers this delicate state of recovery.
Although working closely with your eating disorder specialist through your unique experience of recovery is crucial, there comes a time when you no longer need this level of support. Eventually, there will come a time when you feel ready to begin moving forward independently.
That said, moving from full support with your eating disorder specialist to the completion of your programme can feel somewhat overwhelming. This can lead to difficult feelings and emotions that trigger relapse.
By having The Community by your side, you can keep making progress with increased independence and a sustainable source of support.
Build a strong support network
For so many of our recovery warriors, The Community has become their greatest support network.
Not only will you find comfort in connecting with others at a similar stage of recovery through our online community, but you will also receive powerful group sessions to continue exploring and receiving support through recovery.
Your practitioner will also directly connect you with others who they feel you may benefit from connecting with—in a way that feels safe and comfortable for you, at your own pace.
Connecting with those who have been through something similar brings a huge sense of relief and comfort. It can lead to friendships that last a lifetime.
If you have completed an eating disorder programme with us, we would be thrilled to have you join The Community.
