Most eating disorder support asks you to fit its structure.
Maybe you’ve been through eating disorder treatment before and none of it was the thing that helped. Or maybe you’ve never told anyone at all, and the idea of starting is its own kind of frightening. Either way, the shape of the support you’ve been offered was probably never built around you.
Treatment approaches are often not flexible enough to meet individual needs, so you have to fit the treatment rather than the support adjusting to fit you. There are waiting lists and barriers before you can access anything at all. And there’s usually very little in the way of long-term skills, so once treatment ends you’re left without much to keep things going.
Natural Food Therapy works differently, and here’s what that looks like.
1. One coach who holds the whole picture
You work closely with one eating disorder recovery coach, trained across nutritional therapy, counselling skills, life coaching, NLP and CBT-E. Instead of separate clinicians each supporting one part of you, the full picture stays in one place, with someone who stands beside you and really gets it.
2. You never have to be sick enough
We don’t use weight to decide whether you deserve support, and you don’t need a diagnosis or a label to begin. The first question here is never how much you weigh. It’s how this is affecting your life. If food, your body or exercise is taking up more space than you want it to, that’s enough.
3. You’re one of five, not one of thirty
Each of our coaches works with a maximum of five clients at a time. You’re always a priority and never a number. There’s no reliance on notes to remember who you are or what you worked on last week, because your coach really knows you, and is a text or voice message away Monday to Friday. You won’t be holding it on your own between sessions.
4. Built around you, not the other way round
When someone is trained across several disciplines and has spent years doing only this work, they can shape the recovery around what you actually need. Your coach considers your personality, your learning style, how you prefer to communicate, and where you’re starting from, and works closely with you to get it right. So many people worry that recovery won’t work for them. It’s a different experience when the person beside you listens and adjusts.
Your programme supports you through recovery and sets you up for what comes after, with tools you can keep using long after your time with us ends. Our clients tell it better than we can, over on our testimonials page.
6. We’ll tell you if we’re not the right fit
We only take on the work when we’re confident we can help. You’ll have a free call to get to know your coach before you decide anything, and if it isn’t the right fit, we’ll point you towards someone better placed to help.
What recovery looked like for Tasha
Tasha came to us after sixteen years with an eating disorder and many attempts at recovery. After completing the private programme, she said:
“Sasha works from the root up and this approach has been the missing piece. For the first time I have hope that I will fully recover. I would highly recommend working with Sasha if you are looking to truly heal from food issues/eating disorders, which also means healing the relationship with yourself and coming back to who you truly are. I 100% believe I wouldn’t have made it this far on my journey and this much progress mentally and physically without working with Sasha. I have been inpatient in the past for a long period of time, seen multiple therapists and only felt more disempowered, ‘ill’, confused and not able to see me living life. I now believe I am capable to have a life worth living, on my terms not anyone elses.”
